PAMPHLETS, WEB DOCS & OTHER ACTIONS

  • Faces of Climate Fight, Climate Action Network Europe, 2019 (web doc)

In 2019, millions of people across Europe took to the streets to call for action in the face of the climate emergency. They started to mobilise in unprecedented numbers and ways. More than 7.6 million people took to the streets during the youth climate strikes in September. It was the largest climate protest in history. They also brought the fight to the courtroom.

Faces of Climate Fight was developed in collaboration with Climate Action Network Europe in the frame of the activities towards COP25. The project portrays the climate mobilizations of Brussels and Paris in 2019 and the case of three Europeans that have already suffered climate change consequences and that are taking climate legal action to fight the climate disaster. These cases were represented through the lives of Armando Carvalho, a forest landowner who survived the wildfires in Portugal, Sanna Vannar, a young Saami reindeer herder from the Arctic Circle in Sweden, and Giorgio Elter, a farmer in the Italian Alps.
